VANDERBIJLPARK.- It was a fun-filled day when Lovely Buddies Pre-School hosted their Athletics Day at Oliver Lodge Primary School on Saturday.

This school competed against their neighbour, Little Stars Pre-School, with parents coming in numbers to cheer for their children. The day’s programme started with entertainment in the form of music and dance. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Neo Jacob, who is the Lovely Buddies Pre-School event coordinator, hailed the event as a great success. She told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the event was not necessarily about winning but for kids to have fun.

This was the first event of its kind to be held by the preschool with the aim to give the kids a platform to showcase their God-given talent outside the classroom. Jacob said the aim is to challenge the kids beyond the classroom at a very young age to participate in other activities apart from learning. It was exciting to see parents cheer and run with their kids to the finish line.

The attendance was overwhelming, with the whole family coming to support their young ones.

“As Lovely Buddies Pre-School we want to thank everyone who made this day a great success especially the parents who came in numbers to support their children. We also like to extend our gratitude to our neighbours Little Stars for honouring our invitation. We invited a few pre-schools to be part of this day but only Little Stars responded to our invitation. The aim of this athletics day was not about winning but about bringing everyone together, parents, children and teachers. I have no doubt everyone will go home with excitement regardless of winning or not. They will never forget this day, especially the children who had fun,” said Jacob.
