Midvaal crime hotspots identified during operation Shanela

The operation was led by Sedibeng District Deputy Commissioner Brigadier Mbangwa Nkhwashu and Brigadier Sibongile Ndaba.

MIDVAAL. – A successful operation Shanela carried out by the police working together with various law enforcement and governmental departments identified crime hotspots in the Kliprivier and Meyerton policing areas.

The operation was led by Sedibeng District Deputy Commissioner Brigadier Mbangwa Nkhwashu and Brigadier Sibongile Ndaba.
The focus was on crime prevention, visible policing, and law enforcement interventions targeting high-crime zones, roadblocks, taxi ranks, ATMs, liquor premises, and schools.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela says, “During the operation, police managed to arrest suspects for various crimes including possession of drugs, drinking and driving as well as for being undocumented.”

Nkhwashu commended all SAPS members and stakeholders for their dedication and outstanding efforts in ensuring the success of Operation Shanela.
