‘Tebogo Mosotho’ on a mission to promote Sesotho music!

“I’m on a mission to restore the pride of Sesotho/Zulu music in our society,”

SHARPEVILLE-. Pule Magoposhane, also popularly known as ‘Tebogo Mosotho’ is one of the few singers who composes his songs in Sesotho.

Most of this Sharpeville-based artist’s songs are in Sesotho to accommodate elderly people in the community.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Magoposhane said he is proudly Sesotho-speaking, and most of his songs speak to those who still pride themselves in this language. He told Sedibeng Ster he wants to be different from other artists and believes that Sesotho and Zulu songs still have relevant meaning to society.

“My audiences are young and old, especially those still proud of their culture and traditions. My aim with my music is to touch the hearts of the community through Sesotho and Zulu music. We all know that in the past, we had artists who were proud of their Sesotho/Zulu music, like Mpharanyane, one of the few South African artists who made Sesotho music popular during those dark days.”

According to Magophosane it’s sad that everyone wants to sing/express themselves in other languages.

“I’m on a mission to restore the pride of Sesotho/Zulu music in our society,” he told Sedibeng Ster.

Some of the songs that Magoposhane recorded include Naha Ya Kgotso, Slavery and Umkhululu Umsebenzi among many more.
