SEDIBENG.- It is that time of the year when local soccer fans will flock to the dusty soccer grounds to watch kasi football.
Every year at this time, soccer tournaments take place all across the Vaal over the Easter long weekend.
United Kingdom (UK) and Easter Games Top 16 are among the high-profile annual tournaments scheduled to take place. The popular UK Soccer Tournament will be held at UK ground in Zone 7, Sebokeng, next to the clinic, while the Easter Games Top 16 will take place at Pepsi ground in Phelindaba, Sharpeville.
These are the places to be for local soccer fans over the Easter weekend. Annually, supporters pack the venues to capacity and are expected to do the same this year.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Bongani Magagula, who is one of the UK Soccer Tournament organisers, said they are more than ready for this year’s event. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that this tournament is the legacy of the Sedibeng community with young and old, boys and girls, men and women spending their Easter holidays watching excellent talent and exciting football.

His sentiment was echoed by his counterpart, Tshepo Koatla, who is the organiser of the Easter Games Top 16 Tournament in Sharpeville.
Meanwhile, Duku Duku Super 16 Tournament is scheduled to take place at the France grounds in Movhango, Bophelong. This annual tournament will take place in June. The winner will be awarded R30 000, while the runners-up will pocket R5 000.
