SEBOKENG.- The highly competitive Master Zondo Easter Tournament brought the Zone 12, Sebokeng community together.
The Master Zondo Sports Foundation 16th Edition Easter Tournament was held at Sebokeng Ajax FC ground in Zone 12, over Easter long weekend.
Teams from all over Emfuleni and Midvaal areas gathered to compete for this year’s top 16 tournament. The tournament consisted of the teams that campaign under the Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) development league. The teams from as far as Savannah City in Midvaal, Sharpeville, Boipatong, Bophelong, Evaton and Sebokeng graced this annual Easter Tournament, which is one of the biggest development tournaments in the Vaal, hosted during the Easter long weekend.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Master Zondo who is the founder of this tournament, said the teams that participated in the tournament formed part of the development league.
He described the tournament as a great success with the Zone 12 community enjoyed exciting football.
“I want to thank everyone who made this tournament a great success especially our local organising committee and our sponsors who also contributed to its success. We thank you for caring for the development of our football. We are looking forward to next year’s tournament. I wish the teams all the best for the coming season.”
Results:
- Sebokeng Ajax FC were crowned the u/11 champions
- Vaal Octopus FC walked away with the u/13 first price
- Major One FC were crowned the u/15 champions
- Vaal Gardens Sports Academy were crowned the champions in the u/17.
- Vaal Inter FC were crowned champions in the u/19 division.
