A moment of silence for Lehoko

"Bra Bull believed in hard work and he was very strict when it was time to work."

VANDERBIJPARK.- There was a moment of silence before the DSTV Diski Challenge DDC games and PSL games across the country over the weekend.

This was in respect of the passing of former Kaizer Chiefs and Vaal Professionals great, Simon ‘Bull’ Lehoko.

It was down to memory lane at Isak Steyl Stadium when Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns played against each other in the DC match with soccer fans and some former professional players took this moment to remember this fallen giant of South African football. This was after a moment of silence that everyone changed the topic and talk about his contribution in SA football both as a player and coach.

Former Orlando Pirates and Vaal Professionals striker, Moses Moloi was one of the ex-professionals players on the stands.

Moloi took Sedibeng Ster Sport down to memory lane trip when he was still playing for Vaal Pros under the leadership of Lehoko. He said that Lehoko was one of the best coaches in South Africa, and that his contribution in South African football won’t gone unnoticed. Moloi said teams from Joburg knew what it was like to come to Vaal to play against Vaal Professionals during those days.

“Bra Bull believed in hard work and he was very strict when it was time to work. Vaal football will be poor without him. I was really saddened by his passing because he coached me at Vaal Professionals and before I joined the club, I used to play against them while I was still playing for Orlando Pirates and Free State Stars. Condolences to his family, friends and former players he coached.”

Lehoko will be buried at weekend.

Sedibeng Ster Sport was still waiting confirmation about his funeral arrangements from the family as they were still engaged in the meetings with other stakeholders about his funeral including his former club Kaizer Chiefs at the time of going to print.
