DA takes stand on Metsimaholo’s crumbling roads

"Metsimaholo contravenes Section 83 of the Municipal Systems Act and Sections 24, 156, and 229 of the South African Constitution by not maintaining municipal road infrastructure."

SASOLBURG – The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Metsimaholo will launch a petition on the deterioration of the road infrastructure, the countless potholes, and unsafe driving conditions.

This is a direct consequence of the continued failure of service delivery in Metsimaholo under ANC and EFF governance.

The roads not only jeopardise the lives of motorists and pedestrians but also hamper economic activity.

Metsimaholo contravenes Section 83 of the Municipal Systems Act and Sections 24, 156, and 229 of the South African Constitution by not maintaining municipal road infrastructure.

Metsimaholo and Sasolburg residents are increasingly being forced to drive on dangerous roads, risking damage to their vehicles and harm to themselves.

Despite repeated complaints and demands for immediate action, there has been no visible response or long-term plan to deal with these issues.

We call on Metsimaholo Local Municipality and local government officials to take action.

We will continue pushing as much pressure as possible to achieve this basic service delivery to all residents.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
