Prominent businessman gunned down in Meyerton

MEYERTON – The police are on the hunt for suspects following the brutal murder of prominent businessman Ali Arshad (46), the owner of Ali Hardware in Meyerton.

Police spokesperson Constable Nompulelelo Zazini reports that police responded to a complaint of a shooting incident. On arrival at the scene, officers were approached by bystanders who pointed them to the lifeless body of a male lying on the ground.

The victim was declared deceased by ER24. Zazini said the motive of the murder is not known and that no arrests have been made.

“A murder case docket has been launched for investigation.”
