VANDERBIJLPARK – A suspect was questioned by police after a fire broke out at Burger King in SW5 late Saturday night (May 3).

According to police, a suspect was arrested after footage was obtained linking the person to the incident.

It is suspected that the fire was started deliberately near the gas cylinder storage. However, the fire was extinguished before the gas cylinders could explode.

No one was seriously injured in the incident, as the fire damage was mostly limited to the exterior of the building. ER24 treated patients who had inhaled smoke.

Vaalweekblad visited the fast-food restaurant on Sunday. The manager of the branch did not want to speak to the media.
