Community urged to help reunite Grace with her family

Social worker Palesa Ntsinyane, who is currently overseeing Mrs. Marais’s care, is appealing to anyone who may recognise her or who might have any information about her family to come forward.

VEREENIGING – A heartfelt call has been made to the public to assist in reuniting 67-year-old Grace Marais with her family, after she was discharged to Vaal Echoes Old Age Home in Sharpeville, Vereeniging, late last year.
Mrs. Marais, born on 19 October 1957, is believed to have been living in Vanderbijlpark before her admission to Kopanong Hospital in August 2024.
Following her discharge on 23 October 2024, she was placed in the care of the old age home due to ongoing health concerns, including dementia, which has impaired her memory.
Despite the challenges posed by her condition, Mrs. Marais could share fragments of her personal history.
She mentioned having a daughter, though tragically, it was later confirmed that her daughter had passed away due to a heart attack.
Mrs. Marais also recalled having a sister who reportedly works at a Sasolburg hospital.
Unfortunately, due to her memory loss, she has been unable to provide names or further details that could aid in locating her relatives. Social worker Palesa Ntsinyane, who is currently overseeing Mrs. Marais’s care, is appealing to anyone who may recognise her or who might have any information about her family to come forward.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Palesa Ntsinyane on 075 100 5168 or the staff at Vaal Echoes Old Age Home.
