Local man sentenced for possession of drugs

He was handed down a suspended sentence, on the condition that he does not commit any further offences during the suspension period.

BARRAGE – A man has been convicted for possession of drugs following a successful investigation by the Barrage police.

Tseku Lekgotho was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment, suspended for five years, on condition that he does not commit any further offences during the suspension period.

According to the statement, the conviction was the result of thorough investigative work by the Barrage police, who ensured that all relevant evidence was collected and presented in court.

Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Y. Dlamini praised her team of detectives for their ongoing commitment to tackling drug-related crimes in the area.

“Our detectives remain committed to the fight against drug-related crimes and will continue to work tirelessly to bring offenders to justice and keep our communities safe,” she said.

The police have urged community members to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities that may be linked to drug trafficking or possession.
