Sharpeville SAPS empower young female learners

The event aimed to empower young female learners to make informed choices about their lives.

SHARPEVILLE.- The police, in collaboration with different stakeholders, FCS, community safety, Emfuleni Public Safety, CPF, the Youth Crime Prevention Desk, Spiritual Crime Prevention, Masp, Rhoda Yende Centre, GBV Brigades, Siyabangena Patrollers, and local NPOs, held a school safety programme at the Lekoa-Shandu Secondary School last week.

Police spokesperson, Constable Busisiwe Sango said that the event aimed to empower young female learners to make informed choices about their lives.

They also distributed sanitary towels.

The topics that were addressed were self-care, cyberbullying, substance abuse, sexual assault and violence against women and children. Approximately 109 Grade Eight learners were addressed and received sanitary towels donated by the Rhoda Yende Centre.
