SEDIBENG.- They say give credit where it is due!
This is exactly what Zakes’ Sports Corner is going to do.
For a change, there were positive developments taking place in Vaal football over the long weekend. For example, FAR Post and Lucky Star Pilchards hosted a massive coaching workshop and soccer clinic for local boys and girls. This was also in partnership with Orlando Pirates superstar Relebohile Mofokeng.
It was an exciting football programme with school kids getting free soccer lessons from the coaches and soccer legends. This is what Zakes’ Sports Corner wants to see happen in this region. This region, especially coaches and young players, deserves much better. Give credit where it is due, and this is exactly what Zakes’ Sports Corner is going to do: give credit to those who organise unique programmes. It has been a while since something like this happened in this region.
The only thing that is taking place in the area is this so-called Kasi football.
Like Zakes’ Sports Corner said in previous columns, Vaal football is all about Kasi football. Zakes’ Sports Corner wants to thank FAR Post and Lucky Star Pilchards for their initiative.
Adding to the joy, Mofokeng became the latest player to launch his own foundation.
This foundation was launched over the weekend with big names such as Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo and others attending the Gala Dinner. This is what Zakes’ Sports Corner means when I say positive developments were happening in the Vaal over the long weekend. Somebody, give credit where it is due!
