Letsema-Ilima Primary School receives Library and Resource Centre

It will benefit more than 1,300 learners at the school.

SEDIBENG.-  Letsema-Ilima Primary School in Evaton West recently received a Library and Resource Centre.

Developed in partnership with the DP World & Motus Community Trust, the new facility is equipped with more than 8,000 books, IT resources, a smart board, and a range of educational tools to support both learners and educators.

It will benefit more than 1,300 learners at the school.

Esha Mansingh, Head: Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, sub-Saharan Africa, DP World, said that the resource centre is an important part of DP World’s broader ambition to share the gift of reading, particularly as South Africa still grapples with high illiteracy rates among primary school learners.

Speaking, Saphokazi Madela, Principal at Letsema-Ilima Primary School said: “This library will be a game changer for our learners. With this library, we are confident that we can begin to bridge the gap in education and access to resources. It will serve as a hub for creativity and learning, not just for our learners, but for our entire community. We believe it will be a true catalyst for change.”
