SEDIBENG.- The Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) Development League 2025/2026 season kicked off over the weekend.

It was action galore at various venues, with the junior soccer teams starting their league campaign on Saturday and Sunday.

The league is divided into four streams: Evaton, Sebokeng, Boitshepiville, and Vereeniging. Some of the venues that hosted these league matches include Saul Tsotetsi Sports Centre, George Thabe Stadium, and Zone 3 Stadium.

It was also goals galore with these future Bafana Bafana stars banging goals like they were out of fashion.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, some of the coaches said they are excited for the 2025/2026 season. United Colours FC boss, Benni Chesane, was also excited about the start of the season. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that it was a great weekend of football development all over the Emfuleni areas.

“Look, everyone was thrilled, and you could tell that all the teams were looking forward to their first game of the season. I do not doubt that it is going to be an exciting season. The standard displayed over the weekend was high with these youngsters enjoying themselves,” said Chesane
