VANDERBIJLPARK – A house at 121 Mantevrede Smallholdings in Vanderbijlpark caught fire on Monday morning while the residents were not at home.

According to Vaalweekblad’s reporter on the scene, Ettienne van Rensburg, they were on their way to take a vehicle to a workshop when the fire started.

By the time they returned, the house was already ablaze.

Local residents attempted to help extinguish the fire despite limited water. Water tanks were brought to the scene to assist.

At this stage, the fire department has still not arrived on the scene.
