Police station to represent Sedibeng in Poitjiekos competition

Stations competed for prizes — judged on the taste, presentation and the history behind the culture.

VEREENIGING.- Vaal Marina Police Station will represent the Sedibeng District in the upcoming Provincial Potjiekos cook out competition.

This comes after the members of the station came out tops during the Annual SAPS Poitjiekos Competition held at the Vaal Show Grounds, in Vereeniging last week.

Sedibeng District police stations gathered at the Vaal Show Grounds in Vereeniging for the much-anticipated annual Potjiekos Competition, hosted by the Gauteng Social and Wellness Club.

The event was also organised to raise funds for an orphanage and to provide support to the families of deceased SAPS members. Police spokesperson, Constable Thabang Mothibe said that more than just a cooking contest, the Potjiekos competition offered SAPS employees the chance to come together in a relaxed environment, fostering camaraderie and team spirit beyond the pressures of daily duties.
