The Brotherhood Club’s unwavering commitment to uplifting children from disadvantaged backgrounds continues to make a significant impact in the Vaal community. Their recent school shoe donation campaign, which reached five local schools, has left residents both surprised and deeply touched.
The campaign began in Sharpeville, where the club launched the initiative at BC Lifestyle before proceeding to Pheello Primary School in Sebokeng.
There, the Brotherhood Club delivered 36 pairs of school shoes to learners in need. Tshepiso Primary School also received 36 pairs of shoes.
Teachers at Pheello Primary School expressed heartfelt gratitude to the club, noting that many of their learners come from extremely challenging circumstances and are in dire need of proper school shoes.
Their second stop was Bophelong, where 20 pairs of shoes were donated to the most vulnerable students of Ikokobetseng Primary School. The campaign then moved to Phuthulla Primary School, where another 36 pairs were handed over.
The campaign concluded at Tshwaranang Primary School, where 24 pairs were distributed to deserving learners.
In his opening remarks, the club’s Treasurer General, Thabiso Malika, explained the purpose of the initiative. He shared that the Brotherhood Club raises funds through various activities with the specific aim of buying school shoes for children in need.
Brotherhood Club deputy chairperson Tshediso Tshayana urged teachers across all the schools visited to use their discretion when selecting beneficiaries, emphasising that teachers are best positioned to identify the learners most in need.
“The shoes should go to those who truly need them,” he concluded.
