Kickboxing cup to light up Vereeniging

Sixteen bouts, international fighters and a title clash — the Vaal Toyota Kickboxing Cup III promises a night to remember.

VEREENIGING – The city will host a night of explosive combat sport when the Vaal Toyota Vereeniging Kickboxing Cup III takes place on Saturday, 6 September 2025, at The Barnyard Theatre.

The action kicks off at 18:00.

The tournament, sponsored by Vaal Toyota Vereeniging, features a packed fight card of 16 bouts and is billed as the Vaal Triangle’s first pay-per-view kickboxing event. Fight fans can look forward to a diverse line-up, including eight Amateur Fights – three of them women’s contests – and eight Super Amateur Fights, with four athletes already active in the EFC ranks.

Adding international flavour, four fighters from across Africa will step into the ring. The highlight of the evening will be the Main Fight for the Vaal Toyota Belt, expected to be the biggest draw of the night.

Organiser David Kies says the event is designed to give fighters a platform while entertaining fans: “This year’s line-up is the strongest yet, and we’re proud to showcase talent from across South Africa and the continent. Whether you join us ringside or stream the action online live, you can expect an unforgettable night of combat sport.”

For those unable to attend in person, the event will be available to watch live via Pay-Per-View streaming at www.cflsaka.co.za for R100, allowing fans across South Africa and abroad to tune in.

With growing community support and strong sponsorship, the tournament is fast becoming a fixture on South Africa’s combat sports calendar.
