Investigation underway after Lesotho national (32) shot in Westsidepark

The victim allegedly retaliated in self-defense, but the suspects shot him in the thigh.

SEBOKENG: The Sebokeng police are investigating a case of attempted murder after unknown suspects shot a Lesotho man (32) as he was allegedly fighting back in self-defense during a fight.

It is alleged that in the evening of September 8, the victim and his friend were from a construction site as they were job hunting when they were approached by unknown suspects who tried to rob them.

The victim allegedly retaliated in self-defense, but the suspects shot him in the thigh.

Police spokesperson, Nthabiseng Mokhachane said that according to information received, the suspects fled the scene after the shooting, and their whereabouts are unknown.

The police plead with the community members to assist them with any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects. Any person who may have information can contact Sebokeng SAPS on 016 466 2047, 0824989563, 10111, 08600 10111, 112 alternatively via MySAPS.
