Moremi’s magic secures MTN8 glory for Orlando Pirates

As if this was not enough, friends, relatives, and family travelled all the way to Mbombela to support both Moremi and Relebohile Mofokeng.

SHARPEVILLE.- Sharpeville-born youngster Tshepang Moremi shone when he scored a brace in the MTN8 final at Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga on Saturday.

Moremi produced a Man of the Match performance when Orlando Pirates beat Stellenbosch 3-0 in the Wafa Wafa final on Saturday.

This is the same player who was booed by a certain section of Pirates when he came in as a substitute against Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg of this tournament at Orlando Stadium.

He played as if this were his last game in Pirates’ colours.

He was outstanding on the day, with his work rate something to marvel at.

He looked fresh and sharp even when the game went to extra time, but he was the busiest player on the field. To add feathers to his top performance, he also assisted with another goal. No doubt, this performance will definitely earn him a place in the Bafana Bafana Team. Not only that, he also won the hearts of hard-to-please Pirates supporters.

Even his teammates were stunned by his performance and everyone, including those on the bench, ran to him to celebrate with him.

It was something to admire, with everyone, including the Pirates’ technical staff, all on their feet in disbelief. As if this was not enough, friends, relatives, and family travelled all the way to Mbombela to support both Moremi and Relebohile Mofokeng.

These two come from the same hometown: Sharpeville.

It was a proud moment with Moremi and Mofokeng’s mothers joining their sons on the pitch, celebrating with hugs and kisses. He received a warm welcome when he arrived in his home town on Sunday.
