SEDIBENG.- The South African Football Association’s (SAFA) Sedibeng president, Solly Mkhabela, is part of the SAFA delegates who are in Chile.
He is part of the South Africa U20 National Team delegates that will represent South Africa at the FIFA U20 World Cup.
Amajita will start their World Cup campaign against France today, September 29. Kick-off time is 22:00 in South African time.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport from Chile, Mkhabela said they were warmly welcomed by the Chile Embassy on the team’s arrival. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that they are ready and looking forward to their opening match against France.

Mkhabela said he feels honoured and humbled to be part of the South Africa U20 National Team that will represent the country in the biggest sporting event in the world. This is not the first time Mkhabela has been tasked with this huge responsibility. He was part of the same team that was crowned the African Cup of Nations champions hosted by Egypt in April this year. Apparently, SAFA returned the same delegates based on the team’s previous success.

“I do not doubt that we are going to have a great tournament. Everyone is ready here, and the mandate is to reach the knockout stages and go as far as the final. We are here to give the players and technical staff the support they need on and off the field. Our first assignment starts tonight against France, and we urge all the South Africans to rally behind the team,” said Mkhabela.
Amajita will play against New Caledonia in the second game of the tournament on Friday.
