Moremi and Mofokeng carry Vaal hopes in Bafana squad

These two come from the same hometown and grew up playing against each other.

SEDIBENG.-  Sharpeville’s finest, Tshepang Moremi and Relebohile Mofokeng are in the Bafana Bafana team that will face Zimbabwe in the Group C World Cup Qualifier match on October 10.

These two have been on top of their form for Orlando Pirates, with Moremi scoring a brace in the MNT8 final against Stellenbosch. He has scored five goals and provided two assists in just six matches since arriving at Pirates.

Moremi is the man of the moment in South African football, and the national call-up justifies his performance at club level. This is the same man who, at one stage, got booed by Pirates supporters when he came in against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 first leg at Orlando Stadium.

However, Moremi made them eat humble pie when he scored a brace in the final against Stellies.

As for Mofokeng, he started the season not the same player as last season; however, he has found his old form. It has been a while since two players from Vaal have been in the Bafana Bafana team.

To make it interesting, these two come from the same hometown and grew up playing against each other.

To date, Moremi started his amateur football career with Sharpeville Benfica while Mofokeng was playing for Celeb Youth Academy.
