Amajimbos set for a World Cup knockout after 1-all draw against Qatar

Amajimbos and Italy look like they will finish first and second in Group A, respectively, unless otherwise.

SEDIBENG.- The South Africa U17 National Team is on the verge of making history by qualifying for the U17 FIFA World Cup knockout stage.

Amajimbos, as the team is known, got off to their World Cup campaign on a good start, winning the first game against Bolivia and playing to a 1-all draw against the hosting nation Qatar on Thursday.

As things stand, Amajimbos and Italy look like they will finish first and second in Group A, respectively, unless otherwise. Both nations are first and second on the log, with Italy collecting six points from the two games they played, and South Africa second with four points.

Both countries still have to face each other on Sunday. This will be the last game of the group to decide who will finish at the top.

This encounter promises fireworks, with both countries eager to finish at the top of the group. Amajimbos have stunned many considering their preparation before this tournament. Their preparations were marred by a lot of controversy, with some PSL clubs reluctant to release their key players.

However, this didn’t affect Vele Khumalo’s preparation, beating Zambia convincingly in their international friendly match before the tournament.

The South Africa and Italy game kick-off time is at 17:45.
