Attempted murder and business robbery in Boitumelo

A Mozambican national (26), was sleeping in his shack that he also uses as a tuck-shop in Boitumelo, when the suspects forced open the corrugated iron to gain entry.

SEBOKENG. – An attempted murder investigation is underway after armed suspects shot the victim and further stole cash and items from a business in Boiketlong.

On November 2, a Mozambican national (26), was sleeping in his shack that he also uses as a tuck-shop in Boitumelo, when the suspects forced open the corrugated iron to gain entry.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said that the complainant immediately used a whistle to alert the community.

“One suspect fired shots through the open hole and shot the complainant’s wife in the body. She was later taken to Sebokeng Hospital for medical attention. The suspects managed to enter the shack and took cash and items,” explained Mokhachane.

The suspects are four unknown men who were speaking Zulu and were armed with firearms.

The police are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Sebokeng SAPS on 016 466 2047, 112, 10111, 08600 10111, or via the MySAPS app.
