Support Xaba’s dream to go to Italy

Rising rugby talent Innocent Xaba selected for prestigious rugby tour

SEBOKENG – Innocent Xaba (17), a Grade 10 learner at Sizanani Thusanang Comprehensive School, has scored the opportunity of a lifetime after being selected to join the Rhino Rugby Tour in Italy this December.

The respected tour brings together talented young players chosen through South Africa’s Rhino Week Tournament, giving them the chance to compete on an international stage and showcase their skills abroad.

To make his dream a reality, Xaba needs to raise R51 000 to cover travel and accommodation costs for the duration of the tour. Supported by his proud family, he is appealing to the community for assistance.

Speaking to Ster North, Xaba shared his excitement about the upcoming tour.

“I’m very excited to have been given this opportunity. Playing sports helps me stay focused and away from negative influences. Through playing rugby, I’m doing something positive with my life and working toward my dream of becoming a professional player.”

In 2024, Xaba, who plays for the U17/18 team, was named Best Player of Rhino Week—a testament to his strong strategy, skills, and dedication to the game.

His mother, Dineo Xaba, expressed her pride in her son’s achievements. She believes in the African saying: It takes a village to raise a child. She states that Xaba will be representing the entire Vaal Triangle at the tour.

“Innocent has worked diligently and extremely hard to reach this level. We are humbly asking the community to help make his dream come true. Every contribution, no matter how small, will go toward his tour expenses.”
