Mukwevho commends SAPS for successful convictions
The police in Sedibeng have secured successful convictions, ensuring that justice is served for communities.
SEDIBENG – The police have secured convictions in serious crime cases investigated across police stations within the Sedibeng District.
Through diligent investigations by members, suspects received fitting sentences. Sedibeng District SAPS Commissioner, Major General Nkhensani Mukwevho, says these outcomes highlight SAPS’s continued commitment to justice for victims and community safety.
In Sebokeng, police secured the conviction of Mafa Ramapepe (38). He was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for possession of an unlicensed firearm, wholly suspended for five years. Tofo Rambo (40) received two years for house robbery, wholly suspended for three years. Thabiso Skosana (51) was sentenced to eight years for house robbery and ten years for murder. Skosana was declared unfit to possess a firearm.
In Orange Farm, Mvelo Majola (34) was handed down a 20-year sentence for carjacking and five years for possession of a stolen vehicle. Majola was further sentenced by Evaton SAPS to 20 years for business robbery and a further 20 years for armed robbery.
Police from Evaton secured a 15-year sentence for Mpumelelo Makhutha (37), who was facing charges of house robbery. He was further declared unfit to own a firearm.
Following this achievement, Mukwevho commended the dedicated detectives and prosecutors who ensured justice was served.
