We are going there to compete – Meyer
It is not as if I’m undermining our fellow competitors, but we are going there to compete to the best of our ability.
SEDIBENG.- Sedibeng Netball Teams participated in the Inter District Tournament held in Ekhurhuleni on Saturday.
The two teams, U21 and the senior team, used this tournament as part of their preparations for their upcoming Spa Netball National Championship, scheduled to take place in the same region from November 30 to December 6.

Sedibeng Netball Team brought home a gold medal, while the U21 team brought a bronze medal home. This is despite the limited training the teams have to prepare for this tournament.

The two coaches tasked with the responsibility to lead the team are Mojalefa Radebe (U21 Team) and Monique Meyer senior team. The two have been hard at training, preparing the teams for the national championship.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, despite bringing home a gold medal, Meyer said she believed they could have done better if they had had enough preparation. She told Sedibeng Ster Sport that she wished she had more training sessions with the players to implement whatever she wanted to implement.
However, she was positive that the team would be ready for the Spa National Championships. Meyer said they don’t go there to participate but to compete and bring home a gold medal.

“I do not doubt that we will be ready. It is not as if I’m undermining our fellow competitors, but we are going there to compete to the best of our ability. I want to believe that we will have enough training sessions to prepare the team. The Saturday tournament and other games we played allowed us to see how far we are with our preparations and try different combinations,” said Meyer.
Sedibeng Netball Teams have been involved in a series of games, including the Fundraising Tournaments, with an aim to raise funds for both teams.
