Inter B & Draad make history as they headline in the Netherlands

Beyond their studio work, Inter B & Draad have become cultural curators.

SEDIBENG.- South Africa’s groundbreaking producer/DJ duo Inter B & Draad — real names Boipelo Tselanyane and Mpho Mokhethi — have achieved a major international milestone by headlining in the Netherlands at the prestigious Groove III: The Next Chapter event by GTB World.

They played in the Netherlands on November 1.

The performance marks a defining moment in their journey and a proud global introduction to their self-created sub-genre, SGAFRO — a unique fusion of Sgija – Amapiano and Afrohouse that has begun to resonate beyond South African borders.

Emerging from the vibrant cultural hub of South Johannesburg’s Vaal region, Inter B & Draad have built a reputation for pushing sonic boundaries and championing authentic African rhythms. Their debut album, Season of SGAFRO, formally introduced the world to this hybrid sound — one that merges the soulful depth of Afrohouse with the groove and percussive pulse of Amapiano.

Their headline performance in Amsterdam signifies the growing international recognition of SGAFRO and highlights how South Africa continues to influence the global dance music landscape.

Inter B & Draad’s musical journey is decorated with standout collaborations and charting singles. They’ve worked alongside some of South Africa’s most respected names — including DBN Gogo, Kelvin Momo, Mr JazziQ, King Deetoy, Tman Xpress, Tyler ICU, Felo Le Tee, Oscar Mbo, and the list goes on— releasing records that have become staples within the country’s club and radio circuits.

Signature tracks include:

  • Sgafro Landlords with DBN Gogo & Senjay
  • Dilo Tsa Ma’grootman with Mr JazziQ & King Deetoy
  • Soul Finesse with Kelvin Momo & Neo 419
  • Kunini featuring $addy Cali
  • Inkunzi with DBN Gogo & Sykes

With several releases surpassing 100 000 streams, Inter B & Draad’s growing discography continues to position them as key figures in the evolution of the Amapiano and SGAFRO sound.

Beyond their studio work, Inter B & Draad have become cultural curators. Their initiative, The Riverfront Sessions, created in collaboration with Mzansi Prolific Connect and Style Daily, has become a platform for celebrating live SGAFRO performances. The sessions blend music, visuals (by Joint Effort Visuals), and photography (by Kamili Productions), inviting audiences into an immersive creative space.

Their live performance record reads like a who’s who of South African nightlife — with appearances at major events including Rusty Summer Fiesta, Kandyland, Kwa Gogo, Haeecheee Hareyeng Ke Game, and King Deetoy’s Birthday Celebration, alongside artists such as Kabza De Small, Cassper Nyovest, Mellow & Sleazy, and Mas Musiq.

The performance in the Netherlands marks a new era for Inter B & Draad — one where local innovation meets international demand. Their headline slot at Groove III: The Next Chapter serves as both a celebration of South African creativity and a bold statement that SGAFRO is ready for the world stage.

As they continue to expand their international footprint, Inter B & Draad stand as ambassadors of a new South African sound — deeply rooted in the township, yet global in rhythm and reach.
