SHARPEVILLE.- Sharpeville-born sensation, Tshepang ‘Buda’ Moremi, was included in the starting line-up for Bafana Bafana.
Bafana Bafana Coach, Hugo Broos, showed confidence in this young star, selecting him ahead of some seasoned players.
Moremi didn’t disappoint as he played a huge role in Bafana Bafana’s 3-1 victory over Zambia in an international friendly on Saturday. This Orlando Pirates forward was instrumental in the build-up to the opening goal, combining well with teammates and showcasing his sharp movement.
His intelligent, blind-side runs behind the defense particularly impressed Broos.
Since he joined Pirates from Amazulu at the beginning of the season, Moremi has been the name on everyone’s lips. He has been consistently impressive, and by the end of the season, there is no doubt he will be among the PSL’s top contenders for individual awards. Moremi has been a revelation for Orlando Pirates this season, scoring crucial goals that saw the club reach another cup final.
His journey started on the dusty soccer grounds, in Sharpeville.
In 2013, he was selected for the SAFA Sedibeng U15 Regional Squad, where he played alongside players like Lebohang Lesako and Sabelo Redebe. Many believe that Moremi has so much to offer to South African football, and he might be one of the players to represent South Africa at the World Cup.
