Making a difference during Disability Awareness Month

The team has been cleaning, painting, and installing windows, doors, and gates.

SEBOKENG.- In celebration of Disability Awareness Month, the Mmatli Centre for the Blind, together with guide dogs (mobility instructor) and Residensia Library, implemented an outreach programme to renovate a demolished building in Residensia.

The team has been cleaning, painting, and installing windows, doors, and gates.

The building, once known as the Residensia Police Station, was used as a police station many years ago.

The renovated space is planned for office operations and to establish a school for the blind and people with disabilities.

The organisation pleads with the community at large, companies, and organisations to donate any pre-owned or unused materials such as doors, paint, gates, windows, chairs etc. They are also requesting the assistance of a bee removal specialist to help with the removal of bees in the ceiling.
