Sedibeng Netball senior team wins their first national championships opening game

Sedibeng Netball Teams were involved in a series of tournaments to prepare for this prestigious tournament.

SEDIBENG.- The Sedibeng Netball senior team started their Spa National Championship on a high note when they beat Gert Sibande 48-27 in the opening game on Monday.

These national championships are underway at Hoërskool E.L. Jansen in Ekurhuleni, with the Sedibeng Netball Team participating in this prestigious annual tournament with both the U21 and senior teams.

The national championship will come to an end on Saturday. This was a moral booster win for the Sedibeng Netball Senior Team, with the U21 players starting their campaign against the OR Tambo Netball Team.

However, at the time of going to print, the U21 game was still in action, with the senior team also playing their second game of the day against the Amajuba Netball Team.

The Sedibeng Netball Team coaches, Mojalefa Radebe (U21 Sedibeng Netball Team) and Monique Meyer (Sedibeng Senior Netball Team), carried the hopes of the Sedibeng people on their shoulders.

The two coaches’ ambition is to bring the championship trophy home with their respective teams.

The senior team looks like they will definitely bring the medal home if their first game is anything to go by.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, before the national championships, Meyer was confident that with proper preparation, they would bring home medals. She told Sedibeng Ster Sport that they are going there not to participate but to compete.
