SEDIBENG.- Young Pirates FC will start where they left off in December when they host the rock bottom Dube Continental FC in the ABC Motsepe League match.

This much-awaited fixture is scheduled to take place at Sicelo Stadium in Midvaal on Sunday.

Kick-off time is at 15:00.

Pirates FC have had an impressive run in the league since they were promoted from the SAFA Sedibeng Hollywoodbets Men Regional League at the beginning of the season.

They have made their presence known in this second division league. They were not promoted to this league just to add numbers, but to compete against the best in Gauteng.

For example, they are in fourth position on the log with 23 points from 13 games they played so far this season.

In fact, looking at the log standings, there is a gap of one, two, and three points to the log leaders, Rams FC.

Rams FC is topping the log standings with 26 points after playing 13 games. Dinoko FC is second on the log with 25 points from the same number of games, while La Masia occupies third spot on the log with 25 points.

This means any team from position five can be crowned the league champions at the end of the season, looking at the gap at the top. At one stage, Pirates FC were sitting in third position on the log.

However, they are up against a team that is desperately in need of maximum points to move away from the relegation axe. Continental FC occupied 17^th spot on the log and has accumulated eight points since the league started.

It is still early days to make predictions; however, they might be relegated at the end of the season unless they start collecting maximum points.
