Prayer session held for law enforcement officers

"Please pray for us as police officers, we need your prayers more than anything."

SEBOKENG.- The Emmanuel Catholic Church in Zone 14, hosted a prayer session for law enforcement officials, yesterday.

In attendance were the following:
– SAPS
– Gauteng Traffic Wardens
– Emfuleni Traffic

The sermon was led by Father Lucas Bambezela who read the scripture and further prayed for law enforcers as well as all essential service workers. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said that the day was successful and the congregation appreciated the law enforcers for honouring their invitation.

“The church assured the members that they will always put them in their prayers as they keep the community safe,” she said.

Sergeant Emily Morake from Sebokeng FCS pleaded with the parents to know about the movements of their children as violation can occur at any time. She further educated them about peer pressure pleaded with them to make teach their children to appreciate the little they get from their homes.

Warrant Officer Maria Molefi pleaded with the parents to warn their children about ‘Lalaza’, as it is now trending in schools.

According to information received it is made from spoiled oil that is supposed to be disposed of.

Sebokeng SAPS Head of VISPOL Colonel Stofina Mofokeng appreciated the the gesture from Father Lucas Bambezela and Emmanuel Catholic Church.

“As the police we see horrifying incidents whereby just last month human body parts were found in Sebokeng area. Resistance from the community is often hindering police from performing their duties and vigilantism is often seen as a solution. Please pray for us as police officers, we need your prayers more than anything. Thank you.”
