Vaal Dojo Karate club dominates in Soweto
“This was the best competition to test our boys and girls, and they were mentally and physically ready."
SEBOKENG.- The Vaal Dojo Karate Club from Zone 11 has made its community proud by bringing home eight trophies from a recent international tournament.
Competing in the IKOK SONODA (International Karate Organisation Kyushinkaikan) event held in Soweto, every single fighter from the club secured a win. The club achieved a remarkable 100% success rate with all eight dedicated fighters securing a trophy in their respective divisions.

Coach Lerato Mohanoe expressed his delight, noting that despite their limited resources, these youngsters never stop making him proud.
“This was the best competition to test our boys and girls, and they were mentally and physically ready,” said Mohanoe.
“The achievement reflects not only the fighters’ discipline and determination but also the hard work and preparation invested by coaches,” he told Sedibeng Ster Sport.
These are the Vaal Dojo Karate Club fighters who returned home with trophies: Sipho Mkwanazi, Tsebo Maruping, Tshenolo Serapelo, Kopano Moloi, Sithembiso Nhlapo, Bella Mokoena, Nthabeleng Mosia, and Nozipho Khumalo.
