DA Emfuleni marks Freedom Day with call for voter registration and ‘real change’

" Freedom cannot be meaningful when communities are left without basic services."

SEBOKENG.- The Democratic Alliance (DA) Emfuleni Central Constituency commemorated Freedom Day by honouring the sacrifices of those who fought for democracy and by recommitting ourselves to the ongoing struggle for dignity, accountability, and opportunity for all.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, DA’s Daddy Mollo said that while South Africans celebrate the hard-won right to vote, many residents in Emfuleni continue to face daily challenges including unreliable electricity, poor service delivery, failing infrastructure, unemployment, crime, and corruption.

He added that freedom cannot be meaningful when communities are left without basic services, roads remain damaged, illegal dumping continues unchecked, and residents are denied the quality of life they deserve.

” The DA believes that true freedom means more than political rights—it means access to jobs, safety, clean communities, functioning municipalities, and leaders who serve the people with honesty, transparency, and integrity. Residents are encouraged to take responsibility for the future of their community by ensuring they are registered to vote in the upcoming Local Government Elections. Bring your ID to your nearest registration point or make use of the online voter registration platform.”
