EFF congratulates member on appointment to the SDM Mayoral Committee

SEDIBENG. – The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Gauteng has congratulated Nombuso Njokwe on her appointment as Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) responsible for Public Safety, Sports, Arts and Culture in the Sedibeng District Municipality (SDM).
Significant milestone for the EFF
The party’s Gauteng Communications Officer, Dumisani Baleni said, “We welcome the appointment of Fighter Nombuso Njokwe. The inclusion of the EFF in government marks a decisive shift away from fragile coalition arrangements in the towards stable governance focused on service delivery, rather than continuous political management and reconfiguration. This appointment represents a significant milestone for the EFF.”
Baleni said that since assuming executive responsibilities in municipalities in early 2023, the EFF has demonstrated its capacity as a reliable force in governance, having served at an executive level across all five regions in Gauteng, and now extending to broader provincial influence.

“This affirms that the EFF is no longer a “government in waiting,” but a credible movement with the ability to form stable administrations that deliver services. The EFF’s decision to form part of government in the Sedibeng region will strengthen governance and oversight.”
He added that the people of Sedibeng, particularly in Emfuleni, have endured persistent service delivery failures.

The EFF has assured the residents of the Vaal that its participation is aimed at ensuring stability without compromising the voice of the revolution in council and governance structures, especially given the conditions faced by our people in the region.
