Afrika Mayibuye Movement engages local structures

Members of the movement were reminded about the fundamental responsibility of serving the people with honesty, integrity, and transparency.

EVATON.- The Afrika Mayibuye Movement (Mayibuye) President, Floyd Shivambu, flanked by the National Organiser, Patrick Sindane, and Chaplain General, Archbishop Zondo, convened a strategic meeting with Mayibuye structures in the Sedibeng region this week.

The meeting was held at the Rivers of Living Waters Church in Evaton, and was strictly attended by branch representatives, in line with the organisation’s commitment to structured accountability and disciplined organisational processes.

The meeting was attended by branch representatives.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Mayibuye National Organiser, Patrick Sindane said that the primary purpose of the engagement was to receive detailed reports on the state of readiness of branches ahead of the upcoming Local Government Elections (LGE) scheduled for November 4.

“Branch representatives presented comprehensive updates on organisational capacity, voter mobilisation efforts, and community engagement programmes.  The leadership emphasised the importance of ensuring that all structures are fully prepared to contest effectively and represent the interests of the people. The meeting further reflected on the pressing challenges facing communities across Sedibeng.”

Communities face poverty and unemployment…

These include, Sindane said, the ongoing service delivery failures, deep-rooted corruption within municipal structures, and the alarming recent killing of an official in the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM).

“Additionally, the persistent levels of poverty and unemployment in Midvaal and Lesedi were highlighted as urgent socio-economic crises requiring decisive intervention.  Communities continue to face inadequate access to basic services, deteriorating infrastructure, and limited economic opportunities,” Sindane said.

In addressing the meeting, Shivambu reminded all leaders and members of the movement about the fundamental responsibility of serving the people with honesty, integrity, and transparency.

He stressed that public representatives must prioritise the needs of communities above all else and reject all forms of corruption and self-enrichment.
