EVATON.- Keketso Mthombeni is proudly flying the flag for the Vaal as a finalist in the Miss Gauteng pageant.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Mthombeni revealed that this is her very first time entering the modelling and pageant industry. She decided to step forward not just for herself, but to inspire every young girl and woman in the Vaal who dares to dream.

Mthombeni told Sedibeng Ster that the Miss Gauteng Pageants are an empowerment program focused on entrepreneurship, sisterhood, and community development. She added that the main aim is to encourage young ladies to know and understand the fundamentals of business.

“The pageant is not about looks or height, but they are searching for a queen who will wear the Gauteng Crown with pride. I want to show that where you come from does not limit where you can go. So far on this journey, I have focused on giving back to our community,” she said.

The pageant is currently open to Miss, Miss Teen, Miss Pre Teen, and Miss Mini Gauteng.

So far, Mthombeni has completed a sanitary pad drive to support girls in need, hosted live awareness videos to share positive messages, and taken an active part in Mandela Day events.

She emphasised that competing for the title is about much more than a crown.

“It is about purpose, service, and making a difference. I carry the name of Evaton and the Vaal with me everywhere I go. I want the world to see the strength, beauty, and talent that comes from our community. I want young girls to look at me and say, ‘If Keketso from Evaton can do it, so can I’.”
