Tau Dia Rora visits local primary school for boys’ pep talk

"They must focus on the school books."

SEDIBENG.- Pitseng Primary School in Zone 10 invited the Tau Dia Rora Cultural Lekgotla to lead a pep talk for male learners on Wednesday, to instil discipline following concerns over pupil behaviour.

The school principal reached out to the cultural organisation after noticing pupils mimicking initiation school practices, such as singing, during school hours.

While such songs are commonly heard among young boys in the local community, particularly at football grounds, the school felt it necessary to address the behaviour on its premises.

Lungile Wandlala, the Zone 10 representative for Tau Dia Rora Cultural Lekgotla, confirmed the visit to Sedibeng Ster.

They must focus on the school books.

He highlighted the importance of having a man-to-man talk with the boys to teach them that certain traditions do not belong at school.

“I do not doubt that they went home with a clear understanding that there is not a bad thing be proud of their culture, but at their age, they must focus on the school books, especially on the school’s premises,” said Wandlala

Wandlala expressed gratitude to the principal for the invitation and praised the positive response from the pupils.
