De Deur taxi and scholar bus crash leaves learners injured

Learners sustained minor injuries after a Quantum taxi collided with a scholar bus in De Deur on September 14.

Police in De Deur are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving following a collision involving a Quantum taxi and a scholar bus on September 14.

According to police spokesperson Constable Mampho Mahlomola, 20 learners who were travelling inside the scholar bus sustained minor injuries during the crash. Emergency services transported all injured children to a local clinic to receive necessary medical treatment.

Authorities are currently working to establish the exact sequence of events and circumstances that led up to the collision.

Following the incident, Constable Mahlomola issued an appeal to the public.

“The SAPS is urging motorists to remain vigilant at all times and adhere to road traffic rules and regulations to ensure the safety of all road users.”
