SEDIBENG.- Through all these years the Vaal has been well known for producing fine talent and Kamohelo “Nyaope” Mahlatsi is no exception.
He is the latest local young soccer star to take the PSL by storm. This dreadlocked midfielder was recently nominated in three different categories at the PSL awards.
Like other Sedibeng players, this SuperSport United young maestro made a name for himself in the MDC before being promoted to the SuperSport United senior team.
The future looks great for this young star, if his current performance is anything to go by, especially towards the end of the season. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, “Nyaope” as he is affectionately known in soccer circles, said being nominated in three categories at the PSL Awards boosted his football career, especially his confidence.
He said that this served as motivation to work even harder and become a regular at the SuperSport United senior team. Nyaope started his mature football career with United Hope FC from Evaton North
“When I was told that I have been nominated for the PSL Awards I was speechless and excited at the same time.
“I thought I was dreaming because I didn’t expect this even though I knew I was playing well. I want to thank those who nominated me and I will continue to work hard.
“Look, even if I didn’t win anything, the fact that I was nominated means a lot to me,” he said.
