Vaal young stars in European action tonight

Both Bafana Bafana players are making their mark on the world stage.

SEDIBENG.- Vaal Triangle young stars, Thapelo Maseko and Relebohile Mofokeng, are set for action with their European clubs tonight.

Maseko’s Danish club, FC Copenhagen, travels to face Crven Zvezda in the Europa Conference League with kick-off at 18:00.

Meanwhile, Mofokeng’s Belgian side, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise FC, plays at home against Hapoel Beer Sheva in the UEFA Europa League, starting at 18:45.

Both Bafana Bafana players are making their mark on the world stage after moving to Europe following the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Over the weekend, Mofokeng came off the bench to inspire Royale Union Saint-Gilloise FC to a 3-0 victory over KFC Nijlen, while Maseko’s FC Copenhagen secured a 1-1 draw against Aarhus Gymnastikforening on October 18.

However, coaching staff reports indicate that Maseko may miss tonight’s match due to a hamstring injury sustained over the weekend, making him a doubtful starter.

Consequently, Mofokeng is expected to be the sole South African featuring for his side tonight, with all eyes on him to lead the team upfront.
