SEBOKENG.- Local boy Vusimusi Nkokoma (25), who hails from Zone 13, Sebokeng has been selected for the South Africa Korfball Senior National Team that will compete in Taiwan from October 12 to November 3.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Nkokoma said this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in the Korfball World Cup, especially coming from a township.
He emphasised that this achievement would inspire other kids to realise that football is not the only sport that can take you places. However, to make his dream possible, Nkokoma needs to raise the necessary funds for the trip. He is appealing to the Good Samaritans within the community to help him. The star of the Sedibeng Korfball Club told Sedibeng Ster Sport that he is not going there as an individual but to represent his country, especially Sedibeng.

“It has always been my desire to represent my country at this level, and this is the opportunity for me to do so. I feel great and honoured to be selected to represent my country at this level.
“I’m looking forward to making a name for myself on this global sporting platform, and I have no doubt that I’m going to make my family and the community of Sedibeng proud. But if I can’t raise a certain amount for the trip, my dream of going to the World Cup will be wasted. My humble appeal to the Sedibeng community is to help me, as this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” he said.
