VANDERBIJLPARK.- Boipatong FC bounced back with a 3-1 win against VUT FC in the SAFA Sedibeng Hollywoodbets Men’s Regional League match.

This fixture took place at the Isak Steyl Stadium on Saturday.

Boipatong FC came into this encounter after their shocking 2-1 defeat against the log leaders Ben 10 FC at the Boipatong Stadium last Sunday. Boipatong FC came into this game desperate for maximum points to close the gap at the top.

They achieved this at VUT FC’s expense and maintained second place on the log standings. This time around, they made sure to convert their chances into goals, which is something they failed to do against Ben 10 FC despite dominating the ball possession.

However, this time around, they made sure to rectify their previous mistakes, bagging three goals, much to the delight of their supporters who enjoyed the drama on the stands. Boipatong supporters came in numbers to support their team against VUT FC.

To make it interesting, the club is now under new management with well-known businessman Gab Maloka in charge of the team.

Maloka is a prominent figure not only in business but also in football.

He is not new to this game as he has been involved in football in the past, owning a football club known as Vaal Legends FC, which campaigned in the ABC Motsepe League, formerly known as the SAFA Vodacom League.

He has brought a wealth of experience to the club, and it is not surprising to see them challenging the league title. Boipatong FC maintained their second spot on the log with 55 points from 23 games they played so far this season.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Maloka said the team has the potential to be crowned the league champions at the end of the season.
