Zakes’ Sports Corner has been following the SAFA Sedibeng Hollywoodbets Men’s Regional League with keen interest.
An interesting observation is that the three top teams, Boipatong FC, Perfect Academy, and Ben 10 FC, are coached by coaches with no decorated coaching qualifications.
What makes them stand out…
These teams are the current SAFA Sedibeng Regional League log leaders. What makes them stand out is that their coaches don’t have ‘decorated’ coaching qualifications compared to their colleagues, who they are competing against in the league.
Zakes’ Sports Corner has conducted research about these coaches: Sechaba Mofokeng (Perfect Academy), Katleho Tau (Ben 10 FC), and Vila Mphuti (Boipatong FC).
Mphuti is the only one with a SAFA C Coaching License. However, this is the lowest coaching qualification compared to his colleagues, whose teams are not even featured in the title race.

This stands to affirm the saying, “The thing about football, the important thing about football is that it is not just about football.’
This is a lesson to coaches with ‘decorated’ coaching qualifications; it is not about what you have, but what you do with what you have that makes the difference.
How do you explain this? Coaches with ‘zero’ coaching qualifications dominated the title race?

MATTER OF FACT, sometimes coaching doesn’t need a coaching textbook opinion! These individuals have demonstrated this. They use their God-given talent!
However, it is important for coaches to be educated, and Zakes’ Sports Corner hopes these coaches will empower themselves in the near future.

With or without qualification, they have made this league exciting!
