SEDIBENG.- Naledi ‘Njabulo’ Hlongwane was the star of the show once again as he netted a brace in Kaizer Chiefs’ historic 11-0 victory over Chippa United.

The Dstv Diski Challenge match, held at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday, marked the final fixture of the campaign.

Amakhosi finished their season in fourth place on the log with a total of 49 points.

The Sebokeng-born youngster has found incredible form for the reserve side lately. This latest performance follows another recent brace against Polokwane City, ensuring he finished the season as the club’s top goal scorer in the competition.

Many expect that these impressive displays will lead to a recall to the senior team for the upcoming season.

Hlongwane was originally promoted to the senior squad two seasons ago to help solve the club’s lack of goals. He first caught the eye of the public during a brave performance for the Carling Black Label Squad against Magesi. After scoring two goals in that exhibition match, the Nale Academy product became the talk of the town, and Chiefs moved quickly to secure him with a professional contract.

This former SA U17 National Team forward has a great future ahead of him if his current performance is anything to go by.

Given his brief development background, Hlongwane was a step ahead of his peers. Even at the age of 13, he was competing in the U15 divisions and winning top scorer awards. His clinical finishing previously helped his former academy win the Youth Elite Games, where he earned a Dstv hamper for his individual efforts.
