World Cup send-off for local youngsters!
The two youngsters have been part of the Bafana Bafana team for some time now.

SEDIBENG.- Sedibeng Ster Sport has reliably learned that plans are underway for a World Cup send-off for our local youngsters.
Bafana Bafana Coach Hugo Broos is expected to announce his FIFA World Cup 2026 preliminary squad later this month.
Sedibeng Ster Sport has been told that local authorities plan a send-off for the two local youngsters, Relebohile Mofokeng and Tshepang Moremi, if either of them is selected for the final squad to represent South Africa at the biggest sporting event in the world.
Two youngsters part of Bafana Bafana
The two youngsters have been part of the Bafana Bafana team for some time now, including the African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Not only that, Mofokeng and Moremi are the best players in South African football for their club, Orlando Pirates, at the moment. No doubt these two will book their flight to the FIFA World Cup 2026 if their current performance is anything to go by.
A send off for the boys…
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, a source who is a municipal official in the Vaal said he has been tasked with the responsibility of organising a send-off function for them.
“It seems as if they will be part of the World Cup squad. We have been following their progress, both at the national team and club level. I do not doubt that one of them will definitely be going to the World Cup. This will mean a lot for us as a region, and this region needs no introduction in the world of football. In the past, we had Aaron Mokoena from this region, who was the Bafana Bafana captain during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. I still remember we organised a send-off function for him at Boipatong Hall.”
” We have talent in this region…”
“We will give you more details after the final team has been announced, and we also look forward to working with our media partners in organising this. We want to show how much we appreciate our own because it is not everyone who can represent their country at the World Cup. This shows how much talent we have in this region,” said the source.
