Action-packed start for Relebohile Mofokeng Foundation
It proved to be a fantastic showcase for football development.
SHARPEVILLE.- It was action galore when the Relebohile Mofokeng Foundation Tournament kicked off at James Ground over the weekend.
This marks the second year that the annual competition has been hosted by Orlando Pirates youngster Relebohile Mofokeng. The knockout tournament featured U17 teams from across Gauteng competing on Saturday and Sunday. A large number of young players displayed their God-given talent, with this year’s event drawing numerous teams from outside the Vaal region.

It proved to be a fantastic showcase for football development, drawing large crowds from the Sharpeville community who turned out to support the initiative.
Spectators spent the entire day watching the potential future stars of Bafana Bafana.

Some of the teams that took part in this tournament include United Colours FC, Town Stars FC, Seven Stars FC, PSG FC, Vaal Inter FC, Naturena FC, FC Nothing, Experience FC, National Team, Royal Kings FC, Vaal Octopus FC, Fourteen Overflow FC, Nale Academy Vultures, Celeb Youth Academy, Perseverance, and Euphoria FC.

The tournament is managed by Mofokeng’s parents alongside the Relebohile Mofokeng Foundation committee. Organisers expressed their delight with how smoothly the opening day of matches progressed.
To add extra excitement to the competition, outstanding individual performances were recognised with Man of the Match awards.
