Young Pirates FC appoints decorated local coach
Mphasane is one of the Vaal Triangle coaches known for producing top-flight football players.
SEDIBENG.- The ABC Motsepe League club Young Pirates has appointed Isaac ‘Ngamla’ Mphasane as the club’s head coach ahead of the ABC Motsepe League’s new season.
Mphasane needs no introduction after he formerly led Swallows to the Nedbank Cup Last 32.
His appointment came as no surprise as the club wants to challenge for the league title this season. This appointment was confirmed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by Mphasane himself.
Mphasane, who also had a football club that campaigned in the SAFA Sedibeng Hollywoodbets Men’s Regional League, is known for dominating the popular kasi tournaments in Gauteng.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mphasane said he is excited and looking forward to transforming the club into a giant-killer in the ABC Motsepe League.
I’m an ambitious coach.
Mphasane told Sedibeng Ster Sport his ambition is to take the club to the ABC Motsepe Foundation Championships. Mphasane hit the ground running on Tuesday as he prepares for the new season.
He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that his first priority is to see how many players are available from the previous season and take it from there. Mphasane said the following teams will represent the Vaal region in the ABC Motsepe League: Ben 10 FC, Boipatong FC and Young Pirates.
“I don’t want to lie, I’m very excited to be part of the Young Pirates FC family. I can’t promise them heaven and earth, but what I know is that I’m an ambitious coach. I’m happy that the club’s management is also ambitious. They want to see the club compete in top-flight football. It is also encouraging to have three teams playing in the ABC Motsepe League.”
“Look, having three teams playing in the ABC Motsepe League means every young soccer player in this region will be inspired to play for one of the three teams,” said Mphasane.
To date, Mphasane is one of the Vaal Triangle coaches known for producing top-flight football players. Bafana Bafana star Thapelo Maseko is one of the young stars who came through his club’s (Vaal Juventus FC) development structures.
